Sindhurakshak tragedy: 3 disfigured bodies found from wreckage

Early on Friday morning, naval divers located and extricated three severely disfigured bodies from the second compartment of INS Sindhurakshak – a kilo class submarine that sank at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai after two blast ripped through its hull on Tuesday night. The bodies could not be identified because of the severe burns, said navy officials.
The navy now believes that it’s worst fear has come true, and believes it’s unlikely to find any survivors onboard INS Sindhurakshak.
The navy also came out with a statement, which said that ‘the state of these two bodies and conditions within the submarine leads to firm conclusion that finding any surviving personnel within the submarine is unlikely’.

This is for the first time that the Indian Navy has got first-hand confirmation of fatality since two massive explosions rocked INS Sindhurakshak.
A navy release said that the bodies were shifted to INHS Asvini where a DNA identification test would be carried to identify the crewmember.
The damage and destruction within the submarine around the control room area indicates that the feasibility of locating bodies of personnel in the forward part of the submarine is also very remote as the explosion and very high temperatures, which melted steel within, would have incinerated the bodies too, said navy officials.
But navy officials said that the divers would continue to search every inch of the submerged submarine till all bodies are either located or it can be stated with finality that no bodies remain to be found.
The navy is presently concentrating on reaching the interiors of the submarine to locate and extricate any remaining bodies that may still be trapped within.
Salvage of the submarine would only be attempted thereafter for which many alternatives including deploying professional salvers are also being considered.

However, presently, gaining access to the submarine and locating bodies is the top priority, said navy officials.
The navy also alerted the family members of all the 18 missing personnel, and are being provided regular updates through constant interaction by the family cell of the navy headed by a two-star flag officer.

INS Sindhurakshak was returned in January by a Russian shipyard after a Rs. 480-crore overhaul meant to increase the warship’s life by 10 years.
Built in 1997 at St Petersburg, Russia, in 1997, the submarine was designed to patrol and to protect naval communications, assault warships, submarines and land targets, and perform naval reconnaissance.

MS Dhoni’s return catch was big moment in the match: Kane Williamson

MS Dhoni’s return catch was big moment in the match: Kane Williamson New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson lauded his bowlers for drying up the runs during India’s chase in the second ODI here, terming Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s brilliant return catch by Tim Southee as a “big moment” in the match. When asked about how the bowlers and fielders responded while defending a low total, Williamson said: “Someone like MS Dhoni, he can finish matches when he is allowed to play his shots. He is the best in the world. That catch was big for us.” Williamson was happy with the manner his bowlers responded on a tricky surface and also gave an insight to how some adjustments led to the Indian skipper playing 37 dot balls. “On this kind of a surface (Kotla), scrapping was important. You needed to put the ball in areas where it’s tough to get away and try and build that pressure. It was an extremely good effort considering that the ball was damp due to dew factor...

Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation: Film Review Thanks to a sharp script that springs a real surprise or two and a pace that never slackens, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation rates as the second-best of the numerous franchise titles of the summer, after Mad Max: Fury Road. Armed with an absorbing mystery plot that does more than just connect the dots between action set-pieces (the most outlandish of which is dispensed with in a Bond-like opener), writer-director Christopher McQuarrie maintains the uptick in M:I quality established by the last two entries, and should land this entry within the series' customary range of a half-billion bucks worldwide. Working with Tom Cruise for the fifth time (if you include his uncredited rewrite on the last M:I feature, Ghost Protocol), McQuarrie benefits dramatically from extending the IMF team's official ostracization to a point of total disenfranchisement from the American government; in an early scene, the CIA chief (Alec B...
