Intex launches VR-enabled Aqua 5.5 VR smartphone at Rs 5,990

Intex has launched two new smartphones in the budget category that it says are bundled with "attractive value added services and unique features". The smartphones Aqua 5.5 VR and Aqua Craze II have been launched at the ongoing IGE 2016 at price of Rs 5,099 and Rs 5,990 respectively.
While the Aqua 5.5 VR will be Flipkart exclusive and available starting October 19, the Craze II will sell through offline retail channels. 
Intex Aqua 5.5 VR has a 5.5 inch HD IPS screen display (720p) and is powered by a 64-bit Quad-core Mediatek processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and 32GB expandable memory. The phone is VR-enabled and runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system.
The Aqua 5.5 VR comes with a 5MP front camera having an LED flash and a 5MP rear camera having dual back flash for better low light performance. The phone is 4G VoLTE enabled and has a 2800mAh battery.
The Intex Aqua Craze II on the other hand is based on a Spreadtrum SC9832A 1.2GHz Quad- Core chipset with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. The phone has a 5-inch display with 720p resolution but isn't VR enabled like the Aqua 5.5 VR. The phone has a similar set of 5MP cameras both in front and back, but there is no flash on the front side.
The phones are bundled with Intex's value added services called LEFTY, a left swipe from home screen for accessing multi-category content and MATRABHASHA that allows you to type messages in 21 different languages, including that on WhatsApp, social media or phone messaging.
Commenting on the launch Unnikrishnan Mohandas, Product Head at Intex Technologies said, "As a technology innovator, it is important for Intex to add valuable assets to the portfolio and create an industry benchmark. After extensive research and user inputs, we developed the Aqua 5.5VR & Aqua Craze II that promise to deliver improved quality of selfies as well as multitasking and better connectivity. Moreover, the improved features like Matrabhasha and in-house VAS feature named LFTY add to the USP of the product."
