Microsoft Surface Book 2 Laptop to soon debut in India


The 15-inch laptop is already available for pre-orders in 17 markets excluding India.


The Microsoft Surface Book 2 laptop will soon stamp its footprint on the Indian shores. The Redmond giant's Surface Book 2 was originally launched back in 2017 in two variants — 13-inch and 15-inch. However, only the 13-inch variant was available in select markets. The Surface Book 2 laptop is the successor to the Surface Book which was originally launched back in 2015.
The 15-inch laptop is available for pre-orders in 17 markets excluding India. Later this year, the Surface Book 2 will be made available in both 13-inch and 15-inch variants in all Surface markets, including India and 16 other markets. The company has not yet given any details regarding the date for this second phase of rollouts. As for the pricing is concerned, the 13-inch model is priced at $1,499 (approximately Rs 95,800) and the 15-inch model is priced at $2,499 (approximately Rs 1,60,000).
Microsoft says that the pre-orders for the 15-inch Surface Book 2 begin in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Meanwhile, countries such as Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates will get both the 13-inch and 15-inch Surface Book 2 later this year.
The new laptop display can be detached which will transform it into a tablet. The Surface Book 2 comes with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core Processors and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 along with 1060 discrete graphics. It comes packed with the Surface Pen with tilt and 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity along with a Surface Dial on-screen. The Surface Book 2 sports an 8.0MP rear-facing autofocus camera and a 5.0MP front-facing camera, both with 1080p HD video. It features dual microphones and front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.
The company is also offering around seven different variants of the Surface Book 2 with a different processor, RAM and screen sizes.

As for the connectivity, the laptop includes Bluetooth BT4.1 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Xbox Wireless built-in (in 15-inch models), UHS-II SDXC card reader, USB 3.0 Type A, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and Surface Connect.
